Four members of Waveney Valley Athletic Club joined more than 2,000 other competitors at the Norwich Half Marathon staged recently. On a day when energy sapping strong winds provided runners with an arduous challenge, Waveney’s quartet still managed to put in very satisfying performances.
David Mower recorded a personal best time of 1:47.34 as did Ailsa MacDonald who crossed the finish line in a new best time of 1:48.17. Joe Mayne, running his first half marathon, was not far behind, finishing in 1:50.10 and Lisa Knights, battling a cold as well as the elements, clocked 1:51.46.
