Great Yarmouth 5 mile, Wroxham 5k & Windermere Marathon

There was another bumper turn-out from Waveney Valley Athletic Club at race two of the Great Yarmouth 5-mile promenade series. Thirty members competed with several recording personal bests, despite the windy conditions. 367 runners completed the race with Dylan Neeve, in his first 5-mile race for Waveney, the first to finish for the club in 19th place in a time of 29:57. There were pb’s recorded by Daniel Harris 31:56, Billy Underdown 33:45, Matt Baldry 34:06, Daniel Critoph 39:19, Louise Harrod 42:36, Jayne Richardson 44:44, Emma Branch 47:41 and Kirsty Howe 49:20. Many otherswere competing in a 5-mile event for the first time, stepping up from 5k parkruns.
Sam Lines was a trophy winner at race one of this years Wroxham 5k series. She finished 67th overall from a field of 594 competitors, and 3rd lady, in a personal best time of 18:32.
On Sunday, Mark Smith successfully completed his 4th marathon in his ‘ challenge of 10 ‘ for this year in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. He took on one of the toughest in the UK, the Asics Brathay Windermere event and recorded a time of 4-44.25.
