Waveney Valley Athletic club members Mark Nussey and Paula Lambert took part in the largest ten mile road race the Great South Run on October 30th.

This is a flat course and conditions were good, a slight wind on the last two miles along Southsea seafront. Mark was doing his first ten mile race and finished in a time of 1.18.48, giving him a overall position out of 24,000 runners of 1917th and 1699 male overall. Paula in a time of 1.26.08 overall position of 4104 and 708th female overall. Mark and Paula ran for Great Yarmouth and Waveney Heartcare. This is a local charity. Mark is a Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor and he exercises members of the group, who have in the past, had a cardiac event.
