17th Lowestoft Scores Race - 2pm Sunday 9th September, 2011
This annual festive race organised by Waveney Valley Athletic Club covers a distance of 10 miles round a circular route of Waveney's rural roads, starting and finishing near Beccles Sports Centre, Ringsfield Road, Beccles. Entries are invited from all levels of ability from serious club runners to fun and charity joggers, provided they have reached the minimum age of 17 years old on race day. The organisers are hoping for better luck this year with the weather, as last years race had to be cancelled due to the snow and ice conditions.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female and for the first in each age category: V40,45,50,55.60,65 for both male and female runners. Winners in all categories will receive Gift Vouchers and there will be a mens and ladies team prizes(based on the first 3 runners). All who enter will receive a Xmas Pudding.

This annual event of approximately 4.75 miles starts and finishes in Lowestoft High street, Runs a course to the Sea Front, then follows a northerly route along the Sea Front up the infamous 'Links Hill' then back up and down the Towns historic 13 Scores comprising 409 steps, the event is therefore unsuitable for wheelchairs.
